Connecting Science by Marte Slåstad

A new Science Centre in Hanstholm
Discovering nature in Changing perspectives.

During the course “Extreme housing” the relationship
between the built and the unbuilt has played an important role in the process of programming and developing new architecture in the area of Hanstholm,
The unbuilt the nature, the weather and the social and historic aspects of the place have both been an inspiration and a cause for questioning during
the design process. In this project architecture and nature are supposed to play together as to elements both underlining each other and intertwining.
The architecture protects and exposes you to the weather, making you conscious of its forces. By exploring the architecture one is supposed to discover
the landscape, the feeling of the body moving through it, the views changing as you come nearer
or further from the edge of the lime stone ridge.
